All I Cannot Tell You

Finally I learnt how to grieve you, And how to write the lyrics to this song of sorrows, But in doing so I realised I simply cannot do it correctly, Because you were more than words to me, You were more meaningful than any message I could've sent you, And you were more beutiful than you were known for, I thought finally I had learnt how to see you, And how to handle emotions of yours I couldn't comprehend, But maybe in seeing less of you I was wrong, Because it's easier to see a smaller picture, and to listen for less than you know, It's sweet ignorance I grew fond of, this message I send to you, You were more than you knew, And had I known, I would've fought you with kindness and even, cleaned up the wounds from when you lost the battle, And I had known, and I rewarded you with praise, and like a cat, tried to lick clean of the blood that haunted you, And I thought finally you were washed clean, And reborn from the cracks I'd known you grew from But in your purity I was witnessing death, not birth, Because you had always fought so hard, and never been favoured, Because I am selfish I miss you, and perhaps wish you back into, pain to be with me, You were more than I knew
